AI Engineer. Custom Workflows.

Do you want to do more than experiment with AI and make it work in real legal workflows? At Caserock AI we are looking for an AI engineer who designs, builds and brings into operation tailored AI workflows together with law firms and legal departments. You work at the interface between lawyers, platform development and models, and make sure that a concrete problem becomes a solution that works reliably in everyday legal practice.

Your responsibilities

Discovery and designTogether with lawyers and firm teams you analyse their workflows, identify the steps with the greatest leverage and translate them into sound technical concepts.
Workflow developmentYou build AI workflows and agents on our platform, from document preparation through extraction and classification to multi-stage review and drafting processes.
Retrieval and contextYou connect firm knowledge, templates, case files and legal sources through RAG pipelines and structured extraction, and make sure results come with verifiable sources.
Evaluation and qualityTogether with the subject-matter experts you define test cases and metrics, measure quality systematically and improve prompts, model selection and processes based on data.
Security and data sovereigntyYou implement the requirements of legal professional secrecy and data protection technically, for example through pseudonymisation, strict separation of client data and EU hosting.
Reusable building blocksYou turn proven solutions into components and templates so that every client project is faster and better than the last.

What you bring

  • Practical experience with production LLM applications, ideally with RAG, structured outputs, tool use or agentic workflows.
  • Solid skills in Python or TypeScript and experience with APIs, data processing, Git and automated testing.
  • A good feel for prompt and context engineering, for the strengths and limits of current models and for systematic evaluation.
  • Enjoyment of working directly with users: you listen, explain technology clearly and deliver in short iterations.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and good English, as our clients work with German legal texts.
Also helpful

Experience with AWS Bedrock, vector databases, OCR, workflow automation, the Model Context Protocol or agent monitoring. A legal background is welcome but not required. What matters are solid foundations and the willingness to learn.
